Yeah For Loki!

This past weekend Loki competed in his second field trail in the open puppy class with  his trainer Chris Tewes of Double Gun Ranch. The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Oregon (GSPCO) walking field trial was supposed to be held at Sauvie Island but due to flooding they moved the event to Vancouver Lake.

There were 8 under 15 month old puppies this weekend in the open puppy class at the triall so he had some good competition and his brace mate ended up being one of the dogs he was braced with at the hunt test a couple of weekends ago. The weather was also on the warm side so this was the first time he has run in an event in 70+ degree weather which can make a dog sluggish especially when they have lots of fur like he does.

We are happy to report that once again he is proving he is a great little hunter at 12 months old since he placed 2nd in the group at the trial. Here's looking forward to this weekend's field trial and hoping for a first place finish with points :)
